As there has been a lot on the news lately regarding possible winter storms in the area, I wanted to share some preparation tips with all of you.

The following is a list of some things you can all do to prepare for the possible inclement weather.

1. Check your flashlights
2. Fill your vehicle tank
3. Stock up on batteries
4. Purchase a vehicle charger for your cell phones
5. If you have a wood stove stock up
6. If you have a gas fireplace you may want to obtain a battery back up
7. If you have electric appliances, think about other cooking methods (in the past I have grilled outdoors when the power went out)
8. Purchase a manual can opener
9. Ensure you have non-perishable foods
10. Obtain extra drinking water
11. Battery, or crank, operated radios are good to have
12. Store candles and flashlights in a spot you remember
13. Have plenty of blankets on hand. The use of outdoor propane heaters or gas or charcoal grills indoors can create a deadly hazard and is not recommended.
