Easter Egg Hunt

March or April

Each spring, near to the Easter holiday, children are welcome to bring their own basket to Koenig Field to collect as many eggs as they can carry! Be sure to arrive on time, as the eggs go fast!

Community Day

End of August

Edgewood Community Day is an opportunity for the whole neighborhood to come together and celebrate! This event normally takes place the last Saturday in August. Start your day with the Community Day Yard Sale from 8am-12pm, at participating residences. Then head to the field for the main festivities, including food, artist vendors, entertainment, games, and more. The day ends with music from the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and a fantastic fireworks display! Updates get posted to our website and Facebook page as we get closer to the event.

Vendors wanted!

If you are a food or market vendor interested in participating in this event, please complete and return the Vendor Application Form. Space is limited, and we recommend submitting applications in the spring, to ensure a space.  (If you would like to check availability before submitting your application, please use the contact information listed below.)

Community Day Yard Sale

On the morning of Community Day (8am-12pm), there is a neighborhood Yard Sale. Sales take place from resident homes.

If you would like to have your address added to the list of participating homes, please email office@edgewoodboro.com. You may include a brief list of featured items (optional). The list, as well as a map, will be shared on our website and Facebook page closer to the event.

For questions about the Yard Sale, or any general questions about Community Day, please call  412-242-4824, or email office@edgewoodboro.com.

Summer Movie Nights in the Park

During the warmer months, Edgewood offers free movies in the park. We normally play 3-4 films each year, and all take place at Koenig Field.

Generally, these are intended for the whole family to enjoy, with most movies rated G/PG. The selection varies with current/newer releases, as well as some throw-back features.

Occasionally community groups join us to add to the event. In the past we have welcomed the Edgewood VFD with a firetruck, the CC Mellor Library, and more.

Movie/Sleepover in the Park

In early September, we like to play our feature film in conjunction with the Edgewood Foundation’s ‘Sleepover in the Park’ event, where families are welcome to camp out in Koenig Field all night.

The events are all listed on our Facebook page, where we will announce any changes should inclement weather arise. Follow us here: https://www.facebook.com/EdgewoodBoroughEvents/

  • Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and popcorn!
  • Parent or Guardian must accompany children
  • All Koenig Field rules apply

Contact office@edgewoodboro.com with any questions.

Fallfest/Oktoberfest

Late September/early October

Come to Koenig Field for crafts, cider and hayrides! This annual tradition is a nice warming treat to get ready for Fall.

This event coincides with the Edgewood Foundation’s Oktoberfest, which includes beer, a pig roast, and snacks for everyone. Fallfest activities are free.

Oktoberfest can be accessed with the purchase of a ticket (edgewoodfoundation.org). Thanks to the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department and the Edgewood Foundation for making this event so special.

Light Up Edgewood

Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department ’s Santa Around the Neighborhood + The Edgewood Foundation’s Light Up Edgewood

First Weekend in December

The first weekend of December is when Santa visits Edgewood! During the day, Santa makes a ride around the neighborhood on a firetruck with the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department. In the evening, he arrives at Memorial Park to light the Borough tree with his magic.

After the tree is lit, neighbors can make their way down Maple Avenue for warm drinks, cookies, Christmas movies and a chance to visit with Santa himself! Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for the "Toys for Tots" toy drive. Otherwise, admission is free. This event is sponsored by The Edgewood Foundation.

There are normally several additional holiday happenings that take place the same weekend, or other weekends around the holiday season, including

  • CC Mellor Memorial Library’s Holiday Greens Sale and Arts and Crafts Sale
  • The Edgewood Scout Troop/Pack 23 Tree Sale at Koenig Field
  • The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Concert at the First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood.

Please contact those organizations for more information. You can find links on our Community Organizations page.
