Hiring Full Time Police Officers

The Edgewood Police Department will be conducting competitive testing for the position of full-time police officer. Test day registration will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Allegheny County Police Academy, 700 W Ridge Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101. The Physical Agility Test is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Written Examination to immediately follow. All applicants must provide photo identification at the testing site to be admitted to the test. The applicant must pass all the elements of the physical agility test to be eligible to take the Written Examination. Failure of any of the events in the Physical Agility Test is a failure of the entire test. If one event is failed, the testing process is terminated for the applicant at that point.

Applications can be picked up Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm beginning September 16, 2024, at the Edgewood Borough Police Department, 2 Race St, Pittsburgh, PA 15218. Applications are also available online at Edgewood.pgh.pa.us/employment opportunities. Completed applications must be post marked or delivered in person no later than 5pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Non-refundable application fee in the amount of $50.00 is required.

Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department

The Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for membership. Applications can be obtained at the Edgewood Borough Building 2 Race St. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. For additional information contact Jared Amos, Fire Chief @ 412-242-9994.
